Kammi Heiser
Kammi is the Lead Teacher in the Infants Room. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education as well as having a CDA. Prior to coming to YES, she worked for 5 years as an EA in HeadStart as well as a Lead Infant Teacher for 2 years. She has been with YES since the Infant Program opened at 14th Street in 2007. Kammi enjoys reading, fishing, horseback riding and shopping.
Bridget Hanson
Bridget is the Lead Teacher in the One-year-old room and has worked here since YES opened the Infant/Toddler wing at the 14th Street Learning Center in 2007. She has a Child Development Associate degree and plans to continue her education to become a better teacher. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children when she is away from work.
Jasminka Dautcehajic
Jasminka is the Infant /Toddler Coordinator at the 14th St. Learning Center. She has a CDA and seven years experience in child care. Her goal is to continue her education in the area of Early Childhood Management. Jasminka is originally from Bosnia and she loves to travel, especially back home to see her family.
Kristen Bittner
Kristen is the lead in the 2’s room.
Danielle Strohm
Danielle is the lead in the Preschool classroom.
Charlotte Goode
Charlotte is a Co-lead teacher in the PK Elephant’s Room. Charlotte is a Certified teacher and has a BS in Education. She has many years of teaching experience including teaching grades K-7 at a country school ,working as a Certified Assistant with children with behavior disorders, and teaching Adult Basic Ed in Macy, NE. She enjoys camping, hiking, walking and reading
Melissa Storm
Melissa is a Co-lead teacher in Preschool Elephant’s Room. Melissa attended Iowa Lakes Community College where she obtained an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood. Before coming to YES, she worked as a Pre-K teacher in Sioux City, IA. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys working out, playing Frisbee golf, and hanging out with family and friends.
Kristen Hansen
Kristen is a Head Start Teacher. She has her BS in Elementary Education and plans to continue her education to obtain her Master’s degree or a Special Ed degree. She has worked with children for almost 10 years either as a teacher or a nanny. She enjoys scrapbooking and vacationing with her husband.
Katy Folkerts
Katy is a Co-Teacher in the Monkey’s Head Start Room. She has recently graduated from Dordt College with a BA in Elementary Education with minors in Early Childhood and Reading. She plans to continue her education and get her Master’s Degree. In her spare time, she likes to read.
Azra Belltaj
Azra is originally from Bosnia, and also lived in Germany before coming to the US in 1999. She holds her CDA and has worked at YES since 2000. Azra enjoys helping children and families through her job as a Head Start Co-Teacher/Supervisor. She likes to take walks, swim, and ride bike with her family.
