The After School Enrichment program is more than an extension of the typical school day. Our child-initiated learning experience is fun and engaging for your child. We provide your child a nutritious snack and gym or outdoor time for some fun energetic play. We offer age appropriate choices which allow your child to have so much fun they won’t even know they are learning. They are offered assistance with their homework completion which allows for more family time at home.

At Youth Enrichment Services we host a family event each month at our center locations. This is a great time to come see our facility, hear from parents that love our programs and have an interacting evening with your children. Our families really enjoy these events.

With the 2011/2012 school year fast approaching, Youth Enrichment Services’ is excited to begin a new year!

While having fun is important to us at Youth Enrichment Services’, so is your child’s education. Each day, your child will have the opportunity with guidance from our staff to do his/her homework. Parent feedback is crucial to a child’s education. If you would like to have your child work on a specific project or a specific subject, please communicate that information to our staff and we will do what we can to accommodate.

ASE Program dates

Sioux Falls’ ASE opens August 22^nd

Brandon ASE opens August 22^nd

Harrisburg’s ASE opens August 24^th

Fees

Sioux Falls ASE program

Full-time per week: $40 ($35 for those who registered early)

Part-time per week: $28

Youth Enrichment Services offers a 10% multi-child discount. Tuition charges are due in advance or by 6:00 pm on Monday of each current week. All families are required to sign up for Tuition Express. Tuition Express is a family-friendly way to stay current on charges.

Transportation

All children attending the YES Afterschool Enrichment Program will be transported to a YES afterschool site from all Sioux Falls’ public schools. For the first two weeks of school, a staff will assist the children to get them on the right bus.

For an additional fee, families can choose where they would like their children to attend our program. Unless special arrangements are made, children will be transported to the following sites:

WHAT NOT TO BRING (YES is not responsible for lost or stolen items)

We ask that children not bring any electronic devices such as toys, handheld games etc. Items that your child does not want to lose should also remain at home.

Schedules

Schedules are due by the 20^th of each month for the following month. Schedules can be filled out at the 14^th Street Learning Center or www.youthenrichment.org. If your child(ren)’s schedule is consistent, one schedule may be filled out and used for the entire school year.

Extended Hours

The Extended Hours program provides licensed childcare for school age children, kindergarten through sixth grade on out of school days and most holiday breaks. Care is provided at the 14^th St. Learning Center, Eastside Learning Center, YES Star Program, Brandon Elementary and Harrisburg’s Liberty Elementary. The cost for this service is $20 per day per child if you preregister or $27 on the day of care.

Vacation

Afterschool Enrichment families who are enrolled full-time will also accrue vacation hours each month. Vacation hours must be requested in advance unless used for illness. Families that are delinquent on their accounts will continue to accrue vacation hours but the hours may not be used until the account is current. See Parent Handbook for details.

YES will be closed for Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Please see Parent Handbook for more details.

Dodgeball Tournament

2011 Boys and Girls Club Dodge ball Tournament 6^th-12^th Graders

Who: All 6^th – 12^th grade boys and girls who would like to compete in the season’s dodge ball tournament. Your team will consist of 5 players, the team can consist of all guys, all girls, or a combination of both guys and girls. We will have two divisions: 6^th-8^th grade, and 9^th-12^th grade.

When: This tournament will be held on Saturday, March 26^th from 10am-3pm for 6^th-8^th grades, and will be held on Saturday, April 2^nd from 10am-3pm for 9^th-12^th graders.

Where: Tournament and league will be held at Eastside Learning Center. Registration forms are due by Monday, March 21st by 6:00 PM. You can register on Facebook, or email jengland@youthenrichment.org. Captains meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd at 6:30 PM at the Eastside Learning Center, 700 S Sneve Ave.

Cost: $5.00 per team

Lights on Afterschool

Hundreds of children, parents, business and community leaders came together at a Lights On Afterschool rally with YES at each of our center and school locations to celebrate the achievements of afterschool students and draw attention to the need for more afterschool programs to serve the millions of children nationwide who are unsupervised and at risk each weekday afternoon. The gathering was one of 7,500 such events across the nation emphasizing the importance of keeping the lights on and the doors open for afterschool programs.
